Drakinders

Personality

These creatures are typically fierce in combat, quick-witted, scheming, and often keep to themselves. When in close proximity to others like themselves, or creature of Draconic origin, then tend to feel more comfortable. Perhaps even a sensation of kinship. They're not concerned with the likes of other races, and when presented with a challenge they usually seek to overcome it in some way. The Drakinder is commonly accepted as intelligent, but it lacks the wisdom of it's ancestor. It is only at old age that a Drakinder will finally achieve comparable wisdom and vast knowledge, if they are so lucky to have lived and learned.

Physical Description

Your average Drakinder is a Medium sized creature. The males average between 5'0" and 5'8", with an average weight of between 120 to 160 pounds. Your average female Drakinder is anywhere between 4'10" and 5'6", and weighs between 100 and 150 pounds. The metabolism of the Drakinder is very high, which requires a more frequent intake of sustenance, and results in a slimmer body. Much like their ancestors, they are covered in scales, have claws, usually grow horns, possess long pointed tails, and have working wings. Until a Drakinder is strong and skilled enough, these wings are merely for falling gracefully or gliding. They do not achieve flight until later.

Unlike their ancestors, however, Drakinders have human faces (bearing exception to their horns and pointed ears), hair, humanoid legs and arms, skin on the inner parts of their bodies, and no breath weapons.

Relations

Drakinders often will keep to themselves, yet have an odd kinship to other Drakinders, or other Draconic-based creatures. They are not adverse to being part of a group or community. Though, when faced with a choice, they may choose the kinship over their own party or community.

Alignment

They bear no selective alignment, but more often than not may have a lawful nature. Due to their feelings of kinship and their bloodlines.

Lands

Dependent upon which dragon species they've descended from, Drakinders may feel comfortable in many lands. For instance, a Drakinder with white or silver scales may be more acclimated to colder climates. Due to their ability to both glide and fly, they tend to prefer higher elevations, or otherwise areas where they can spread their wings.

Religion

A common Drakinder will find it difficult to ignore their bond to other draconic creatures. Therefore, they tend to have a faith or simply a strong urge to follow draconic deities such as Tiamat & Bahamut.

Language

They begin with speaking a mix of Draconic and Common at a young age.

Names may vary severely depending entirely on the family and territory they live within.
