The 49-ton Panzerkampfwagen V Panther was a German medium tank employed during WWII from mid-1943 to 1945. It was intended to replace the Panzer III and Panzer IV, and counter the Soviets' T-34s. It's considered by far the best general-purpose tank of the war, and it has an exceptionally high power to weight ratio, making it fast and mobile for its size. It is equipped with a 75 mm antitank main gun and two MG34s, one turret-mounted and one bow-mounted. Compared to the Panzer IV, its 75mm gun has a higher velocity and significantly improved armor piercing capabilities.
