Talk:Archon, Lunar (3.5e Race)

Potential Problems

  • I like the race; you've done good work and Lunar Archon has nice flavor. However, I do wish to address some things. First, I find their height and strength penalty contradictory. I'm not saying it is not possible for tall people to be weak. However, usually height in D&d is correlated to strength. I recommend perhaps adding a few lines in their race description like "their bones are lighter and more crystalline in nature" or otherwise remarking why they have less strength than other races (I will note the light weight and find it very appropriate as is). Second, I feel the racial skill bonuses should all be of the same ability score (probably intelligence); maybe Decipher Script and Knowledge (History) instead of Sense Motive and Spot? Third, the land speed is strange; not bad (considering their heightened dexterity) but strange. Fourth, you should just bump that Darkvision up to 60 ft. Fifth, I think the Spell-like abilities would make this race LA+1. Sixth, I think the changes made to aging effects are unnecessary; most DMs will not allow a player to start with such min-maxing (but perhaps allowing a character that ages into it) and, at the same time, the huge lifespan of the Lunar Archons prevents a player from ever reaching them. Again, these are just things to consider. Your race is great and I encourage you to create some more in the same vein (perhaps solar archons or archons of the different planets?) -Dr. Seymour (talk) 23:22, 17 April 2013 (MDT)
