Balance
Hey CL, I stared at this for a moment trying to see the unbalance. Then I compared it to the gnome, saw arkin has two more traits, and wondered their power level. No need for sleep and a proficiency. I didn't think it was a big deal, or made this unbalance but dug deeper. Looked into musicus to see how you value things and I got a score of 5. So I still feel lost on why the needsbalance is there. Maybe I missed some points? Not sure but your help understanding why this isn't balanced (other than it is simply better than a gnome, base race vs base race) would be cool. - Not sure how you got a 5 since this race is at least a 7.5 on the meter. The unconditional advantage needs to be made into a simple proficiency but other than that I don't see any issues with the current revision besides it lacking in lore elements. --ConcealedLight
- ASI +2, Darkvision +.05, Cunning +2, Trance +.05, Skill pro +.05=5.5 (off by .5) This is the race, not subrace, which was my question.
- tool advantage I'm guessing gets +1.5? because of its broadness, and the cantrip is +.05. I'm not sure on the tool advantage though, just guessing since you said 7.5.
- Brave +.05, and another trait that is getting +1.5 I assume? to get another score of 7.5...
- The metric itself says 8 maximum, which is a guideline. I don't see any min/max attempt so pushing the envelope isn't my concern. Do you just not like the combination of traits? or is there another reason it'd be unbalanced? BigShotFancyMan (talk) 10:34, 4 May 2018 (MDT)

- You never specified the base race when giving your scoring. The base race is worth 5.5 and the subraces +2. I'm counting the tool trait as a tool proficiency since it will need to be changed for the template to be removed. Exactly as I've said in the template, "There are a number of others things that don't make much sense when comparing lore to mechanics and this really should be worked on.". --ConcealedLight
