Talk:Inkling, 2nd Variant (5e Race)
More info on the mechanics of how Inklings are 'Splatted'
As a blue Inkling is hit with orange ink, it'll naturally begin taking in the orange ink via osmosis, and as time goes on the Inkling's body will turn the orange ink blue, and use it later (how the health regen over time works). If too much orange ink is absorbed, the blue Inkling's body cannot handle it, and the Inkling's outer membrane bursts, causing it to get 'splatted'. The deflated Inkling then floats away on ink vapor in the air while it's outer membrane repairs itself and then the Inlking returns to its team's respawn point, and refills it's ink, ready to go again.
Splatoon is kind of morbid when you look at it from a scientific point of view :S
Balance
- Ability scores need normalizing, this is 5e not 3.5e.
- Amorphous Form. Armor doesn't give you an "Armor Bonus", so what is this 75% acting on?
- Squid Form.
- 5e doesn't have "free actions". Just say you can change form once on your turn.
- 5e doesn't have "Reflex Saving Throws".
- 5e doesn't have a generalized 3.5e-style "take 10" on checks so you need to explain what this means.
- 5e doesn't have a "run action".
- Use advantage, not a +10 bonus.
- Ink
- Exactly how do you "spit or discharge"?
- Is it a ranged attack roll, or is it just for inking the environment? If the latter, what area does each spit cover?
- Does it take up your action?
- Acid damage, not "acidic" damage.
- Ink Jump
- D&D uses feet, not yards.
- Is this distance in length or height?
- Does it use an action?
- Color Change
- what are the different colors that can be changed to?
- "You regain the use of color change when you finish a short rest", not "once per short rest".
- Splatters
- What is "health", do you mean "hit points"?
- If this is hit points, this can't go below 0 in 5e.
- "Unconscious" and "0 hit points" are two different states. Does this trigger every time you fall unconscious, or only when you are unconscious and at 0 hit points?
- Should the ink jump use your reaction?
- It says you don't ink jump if you are killed outright, but it already says that ink jump only happens if you are only knocked unconscious.
- Introduces a new language, squidlish, but doesn't describe it. Marasmusine (talk) 17:55, 3 April 2016 (MDT)
