Talk:Shotgun Stinger (3.5e Class)

Role issues. This is a one-trick class, specializing in sundering. If the adventure involves mostly beasts, elementals and other unarmed/armoured enemies, this will not be an enjoyable class to play. Base Classes should be more well-rounded than this. This would be better off as a prestige class. Marasmusine (talk) 03:27, 20 September 2015 (MDT)

Balance issues.

  • "crafter's check". Surely it would be obvious to anyone if a weapon is broken or not, or masterwork or not.
  • "Sunder sword" describes SRD:Sunder, which anyone can do, except sundering Armor which is not fully explained.
  • "Shatter Rush" - you can already "combine" a sunder attempt with a charge, since it is a melee attack.
  • "Breaker Blade" - when you break a small weapon, you can choose to break it? What?
  • "Artisan's Check" - again, it's obvious if a weapon is masterwork. Masterwork weapons do not have a "power" level.
  • "Wrist Flicker" - What is a "Hit roll to attack a weapon or armor's AC"?
  • "Stability" I don't understand. Do you choose one of these actions once? What happens if I pick Charge, as there is no "improved charge" feat?
  • "keen eye" - what is the effect of finding a "kink or weakness" in armor?
  • "breaker rush" - "2 Strength Mod if he is caught in a Black Lock" - what?
  • "Fault line" - What is involved with giving "tips" to your allies - does it require an action, or do they just have to be near you?
  • "Crack and shatter" - what does this actually do?
  • "Blacksmith's check" - what does this mean? Something is either masterwork or not.
  • "Elementalist's check" - does not tie in with the existing rules for detecting magic on magic items.
  • "Grind blade" - object AC, again? Did the author mean Hardness?
  • "Razor's edge" - Does "attacking armor" mean making a sunder attempt on armor? How long does the speed penalty last for?
